KCHD Offers Free Dental Health Services for Children this Summer
The Knox County Health Department’s (KCHD) School-Based Dental Program is offering free dental services for children and young adults at two locations this summer.
Patients will receive education, screenings, exams, and a variety of other services.
“Tooth decay is the most common chronic disease in childhood, yet it is largely a preventable disease,” said Sarah Naill, dental hygienist with KCHD’s School-Based Dental Program. “Attending a free event like this is a great step towards ensuring healthy smiles for our children.”
More than 45 percent of all U.S. children experience tooth decay by age 19, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics.
