The Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the WNBA with a special exhibit unveiling and public event, WNBA Turns Thirty: Unveiling & Celebration, on May 9 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Hall.

The new WNBA Turns Thirty exhibit highlights three decades of the league’s history, featuring a collection of artifacts spanning from the inaugural 1997 season to today. The exhibit includes early league memorabilia, game-worn jerseys and items tied to some of the WNBA’s most recognizable players and moments.

Among the featured artifacts are a game-worn jersey from Dawn Staley and a pair of shoes worn by Sheryl Swoopes, along with items representing multiple franchises, including the Los Angeles Sparks, New York Liberty and Houston Comets. The collection offers a snapshot of the league’s evolution and its lasting impact on the game.

To mark the occasion, the Hall will host an afternoon celebration inviting fans to be among the first to experience the exhibit. With regular admission, guests will receive a commemorative button, enjoy light refreshments, including popcorn and a dirty soda bar, and take part in a photo activation.

The event coincides with the start of the WNBA season and highlights the league’s continued growth and influence.

“Celebrating 30 years of the WNBA is incredibly personal for me, having had the privilege to play in the league’s inaugural years,” said Michelle Marciniak, CEO of the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame. “To see how far the game has come, from those early days to the global platform it is today, is both humbling and inspiring. This exhibit honors the pioneers who built the foundation while reminding us how much opportunity still lies ahead.”

The WNBA Turns Thirty: Unveiling & Celebration is open to the public and included with regular Hall admission. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit wbhof.com/visit/
