Families needing Christmas assistance must register by Friday, October 2

The Salvation Army of Knoxville is reminding local families that Friday, October 2, is the final day to register for 2026 Angel Tree and Silver Bells Christmas assistance. Registration is being held from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday at The Salvation Army Knoxville, 409 N. Broadway St.
The Angel Tree program provides Christmas assistance for children ages 0–12, while Silver Bells serves seniors ages 55 and older.
Residents of Anderson County who missed the earlier Anderson County registration may also register in Knoxville on Friday.
Families must register in person and bring original documentation, including:
- An original birth certificate for each child being registered
- Valid photo identification for the parent or guardian
- Proof of household income and benefits
- Custody documentation, if applicable
- For expectant mothers, a doctor’s verification of due date
Last year, The Salvation Army Knoxville Area Command provided Christmas assistance to more than 1,300 children and nearly 450 seniors through its Angel Tree and Silver Bells programs.
