KUB and its contractor will implement intermittent lane closures in the downtown Knoxville area nightly between 11 p.m. – 7 a.m. beginning Monday, June 3, and lasting through Thursday, June 6, as work is completed on the underground electric distribution system in this area. There may be temporary traffic delays in the construction zones on Gay Street, Walnut Avenue, and the intersection of Summit Hill and Henley Street while this work is completed. Some listed closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during the work. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at each location to assist motorists traveling in these areas. Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use extreme caution and expect temporary delays in these areas.
