The 35th annual Greekfest will take place at St. George Greek Orthodox Church at 4070 Kingston Pike.  Special features include authentic Greek food, delicious Greek pastries, live music, traditional Greek dancing and costumes that have made this event a favorite.

Delicious homemade Greek pastries prepared by members of St. George are available to eat or take home.  The popular a la carte menu is available throughout the festival and includes traditional favorites such as roast lamb plate and roast lamb sandwich, gyro, souvlaki, pastichio, spanakopita, Greek salad, Greek pizza, and much more.  And once again this year the fest will feature a guest favorite, saganaki!

Enjoy tours of the beautiful church and Byzantine iconography that are offered throughout the day and evening.  Most popular are presentations about the Greek Orthodox religion and the history of the faithful.  Also popular are Greek dancing performances presented by the St. George youth.

The marketplace will include fine and imported costume jewelry, imported gifts, cultural art, a bookstore, an authentic taverna, Greek wines, coffee, frappes, and of course the ever popular Greek pastry sale.  Papou’s Pantry and YiaYia’s Cuisina will offer authentic Greek products for preparing Greek foods and Greek wines, which will be available for purchase at the taverna.

The festival will also once again feature traditional Greek music.  And of course, a festival favorite, Greek dancing shows from church youth.
