This weekend, April 27-29th, Market Square and the surrounding streets will be transformed into a vibrant art fair featuring juried artwork from local and regional artisans, live entertainment, activities for children, food trucks, a beer garden, and much more.

The entertainment on the Bill Lyons Market Square Stage is something not to be missed this year. Nashville-based duo Carolina Story will headline Friday night, taking the stage at 8PM. “From their genesis, they have crafted their sound to be a perfect mix of the lyrical grit and wit of Hank Williams Sr. and the tender atmosphere of Heartbreaker-era Ryan Adams. Carolina Story (Ben and Emily Roberts) are from Arkansas and South Dakota respectively, Ben being raised alongside the songs of Neil Young, George Jones, The Band and Bob Dylan; Emily on the sounds of Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, Hank Sr. and Johnny Cash, giving their songs a seamless, organic blending influence of gritty, folky Americana and nostalgic, traditional Country.”

Local favorite Josiah & the Greater Good will headline Saturday night. Josiah Atchley, marine turned musician, will be supported by his band, The Greater Good, combining a “lethal dose of heavy rock/blues/reggae vibes with a hint of pop and whatever other seasoning the moment may call for.”

The diversity in the full entertainment lineup this year will appeal to all audiences. Please visit Dogwoodarts.com/dogwood-arts-festival to see a full schedule of performances.

In addition to the live entertainment, more than 90 juried artists will feature and sell their work at the festival. Artisans working in mixed media, clay, drawing/pastels, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, painting, photography, sculpture, and wood will be selling their wares.  “Since co-chairing with Brooke Carper over the past 6 years, this is the largest festival we have been a part of, based on the number of artists, food vendors, and Creation Station vendors”, says Dogwood Arts Festival Co-Chair Shanna Browning. Creation Station will also have entertaining family-style craft activities throughout the festival for children of all ages and their families.

The Blooming Beer Garden is back this year! Enjoy a craft beer from Yee-Haw Brewing Company out of Johnson City, Tennessee right in the middle of Market Square!
