The Historic House Museums of Knoxville (HHMK) and the East Tennessee Historical Society (ETHS) invite you to Founder’s Day: A Celebration of 231 Years of Knoxville. During this celebration, HHMK reflects on the 40th anniversary of the 1982 World’s Fair in Knoxville with a special presentation by former Mayor Randy Tyree at 12:00 PM. Visitors can also enjoy Petros, an international popcorn buffet, and birthday cake, and will have the opportunity to sign a birthday card for Knoxville, and enjoy free admission to the Museum of East Tennessee History, including the signature exhibition Voices of the Land: The People of East Tennessee and the temporary exhibition celebrating the 40th anniversary of the 1982 World’s Fair in Knoxville, You Should’ve Been There.
