In Loving Memory of Michael M. “Mike” McMillan

Michael M. “Mike” McMillan was born on January 17, 1950 in Knox County, Tennessee, son of Joe and Mary Jane McMillan and was a lifelong resident of Knox County’s Carter Community. He entered into rest on
January 26, 2024 at the age of 74 after a long battle with throat and lung cancer. Mike dedicated his life to serving others as a public school teacher for over 30 years, District 8 Knox County Commissioner for over 8 years, and Knox County Board of Education District 8 Representative for over 13 years.
Mike loved farming, spending time with family and friends, attending auctions, antiquing, watching football games, and enjoying a good meal. Everyone who knew him was blessed by his stories and historical
knowledge. His friendship, dedication, wisdom and leadership will be missed by all.
Mike was survived by his long-time companion, Teresa Clapp, her daughter Amanda “Mandy” Clapp; and her son, Jimmy Clapp, his wife Suzanne Clapp and daughters and Jaycie and Addison Clapp; cousin
Jackie McMillan Carpenter; cousin Skip McMillan and wife Sandy McMillan; and cousin Cathy Gibson and husband David Gibson; along with many lifelong friends.
