The Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley’s (HSTV) 22nd annual Bark in the Park is just around the corner. Knoxville’s biggest celebration for dogs and people will be held at the World’s Fair Park Festival Lawn on Saturday, June 11th. Gates will open at 3 pm with a five-dollar entry donation.

The festival will have something for everyone.  As usual, the day will host everyone’s favorite games and contests for people and their pooches to participate in! HSTV’s Kid’s Corner will feature face painting, henna tattoos, balloon art and more.  Festival vendors will include artisans, pet-oriented businesses, such as dog trainers and veterinarians, and pet-friendly businesses.  There will be lots of great food and festival goers will be able to cool off with a cold drink at the “Barkin’ Beer Garden sponsored by, the Bearden Beer Market and Yazoo Brewing Company. And to help keep Fido cool, there will be cool-down pools and Grayson Subaru’s Misting Tent.  Of course, Rescue Alley will be there as well, representing so many hardworking specialized animal rescues!

Bark in the Park is a huge event for HSTV and Bark’s presenting sponsor, Grayson Subaru.  “The festival is our largest fundraising event of the year and is a great opportunity for HSTV and our sponsors to do something fun for the community and the pets we love,” says HSTV’s Katie Crossen.  As a regional destination shelter, HSTV cares for over 1,300 at-risk animals a year coming from over 20 surrounding counties. “Funds raised at the event will allow us to continue to provide this care while working toward our vision of a no-kill East Tennessee by 2025,” says Crossen.
