This Saturday, Sept. 26, Keep Knoxville Beautiful hosts its sixth annual East Knoxville Community Cleanup from 9 a.m. to noon at the Ashley Nicole Dream Playground, 620 Winona St.
Folks can arrive at the park to get supplies and then disperse to clean up roads, creeks, and parks in the area. Ijams Nature Center will be partnering to remove invasive species from Dr. Walter Hardy Park. It is recommended to wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, and to bring water.
Participants of any age are welcome. Several volunteer options are available; you can clean up Caswell Park, First Creek, or help Ijams with invasive species removal. Check out their website to pre-register and for more information on roles.
