It is official now: former Governor Phil Bredesen will speak at May 4th Truman Day annual dinner. Knox County Democratic candidates for local, state and federal offices will also be present.
Bredesen, who has raised his party’s hopes by running for the seat of Republican Bob Corker, is crisscrossing the state during his campaign for Senate and the Knoxville stop is a welcomed visit from local party members.

The annual fundraiser, being held at The Foundry at the World’s Fair Park, starts at 6:30 Friday and tickets will be $70 at the door. The event draws hundreds of Democrats from not only Knox County but the surrounding area.
Proceeds go to hiring field organizers in Knox County and to assist local candidates.
