On Thursday, Dec. 9, the Knoxville Area Urban League will host an event for people interested in construction employment connected to the multi-use stadium and private development in East Knoxville near downtown.

The event, which takes place from 6-7 p.m. at Knoxville Area Urban League, 1514 E. 5th Ave., is a continuation of efforts to increase the number of community members participating in the construction. Opportunities are available in excavation, steelwork, concrete work, masonry, plumbing, electric, roofing, painting and more.

The multi-use stadium in the Old City warehouse district will be home to the Tennessee Smokies baseball team and One Knoxville Sporting Club’s soccer team in addition to a host of concerts, festivals and other community events. The project is expected to bring 3,000 construction jobs.
