Several quilters from the Knoxville area were recognized for their creativity and workmanship at the Smoky Mountain Quilters of Tennessee (SMQ) 42nd Quilt Show and Competition June 23-34 at the Knoxville Expo Center.

 

The event featured more than 200 stunning quilts and approximately $6,000 in awards. Local winners included:

 

Large Pieced Quilt – Solo:

The Smoky Mountain Quilters of Tennessee typically meet on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Messiah Lutheran Church, intersection of Papermill Drive and Kingston Pike in Knoxville.
