On Monday, Lakeshore Park Conservancy will announce:

  • Implementation of the next phase of the park’s updated master plan.
  • Construction starting in November.
  • Details of the key enhancements being made for the community.
  • An eight-figure gift from the Haslam family.

The announcement will take place at 1:45 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 25, at the overlook of Lakeshore Park. In case of rain, the event will move to Marble Hall.

Lakeshore Park is Knoxville’s largest, most centrally located and most visited general recreation park – and the only one in the City of Knoxville developed through a public-private partnership. Following a major update to the Lakeshore Park Master Plan approved by Knoxville City Council in October 2020, the conservancy has been fundraising and working toward implementation.

The eight-figure commitment toward funding the project is being made by Dee and Jimmy Haslam; Natalie and Jim Haslam; Crissy and Bill Haslam; and Ann and Steve Bailey.
