In the wake of the city’s recent clearing out of a homeless enclave, alongside the tightening availability of affordable housing nationwide, a local nonprofit, I Am the Voice of the Voiceless, is leveraging growing community concerns about these issues into informed action by hosting a series of public forums.

The fifth of five town hall meetings – Quiet Conversations about Affordable Housing – will take place this Friday, December 14, 2 – 3:30 p.m., at the City-County Building in the Small Assembly Room. The community will hear from several panelists who work in the field of housing development to understand how to address diverse housing needs.

Vivian Underwood-Shipe, Director and Founder of I Am the Voice of the Voiceless, and 3rd District City Councilwoman Seema Singh-Perez will be hosting the event. The forum will be moderated by local radio and television personality Hubert Smith.
