The 2021 SEC Football Media Days will be held in the Grand Hyatt at the highly anticipated Nashville Yards

The Southeastern Conference announced yesterday that the 2021 Football Media Days will be hosted by Nashville at the Grand Hyatt in the Nashville Yards. SEC Football Media Days is expected to bring over 1,000 media outlets to the city of Nashville and ESPN and SEC Network will be broadcasting live throughout the week.

“We look forward to bringing SEC Football Media Days to Music City in 2021,” said SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey. “Nashville has been a tremendous home to our basketball tournaments and the SEC enjoys a great relationship with the Nashville Sports Council, Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp and the city leaders who I am confident will help make this event a success. Nashville has become one of America’s most vibrant cities and continues to be an ideal location to host some of the SEC’s marquee events such as Football Media Days.”

SEC Media Days is a four-day event that draws national media coverage and college football fans from across the region. The programming includes coaches and player press conferences, a “radio row,” and many other media interviews and activities.

“We are appreciative of the SEC in giving Nashville an opportunity to host the 2021 SEC Football Media Days for our first time ever,” said Scott Ramsey, President, and CEO of the Nashville Sports Council.  “We are excited about showcasing Music City and the new Grand Hyatt at the Nashville Yards to attending media, SEC fans, and the national broadcast audience.”

This is only the third time since 1985 SEC Football Media Days will be held outside of the Greater Birmingham-Hoover Metro Area. Atlanta is the only other city to play host to the media event, earning the bid in 2018 and 2020.

SEC Football Media Days will be the first large-scale event to take place at the Nashville Yards expansion operation. One of Nashville’s most ambitious urban entertainment development projects, Nashville Yards will offer 3.5 million square feet of class A and creative office space, 1,000+ residential units, 400,000 square feet of retail and entertainment and over 1,100 hotel rooms. The Grand Hyatt at Nashville Yards is expected to open in 2020.
