It’s farmers market season in Knox County! The New Harvest Park Farmers Market kicks off its 2013 season this Thursday, April 11 from 3 to 6 p.m. at 4775 New Harvest Lane, just past the Target shopping center on Washington Pike. This is the first farmers market to open in Knox County, and will take place at New Harvest Park every Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m. through November.
Along with local farmers and crafters, the New Harvest Park Farmers Market is proud to announce a new addition to this year’s market: food trucks! All food trucks participating in the market use local produce, which often comes from the same vendors selling at the farmers market.
Vendors confirmed for this Thursday’s market are:
· Bob Due’s Terraced Gardens
· Che’s Cupcakes
· Clear Springs Farm
· Cruz Farm
· Erin’s Meadow Herb Garden
· Gail’s Soaps
· Gregory’s Greenhouse
· Halford’s Farm
· Josh Ray
· Lackey Candle Company
· Melanie Wheeler
· Melissa Spradlin
· Mitchell Family Farm
· Nicely’s Goat Milk Soap and More
· Sherie’s Salsa
· Tootsie Truck
· VG’s Bakery
Please note the majority of vendors only accept cash. Last year, in an effort to make farmers market products available to more people in the community, Knox County began accepting SNAP electronic benefit cards at the market.
