The City of Knoxville Police Advisory & Review Committee (PARC) will hold its 1st Quarter meeting on Thursday, June 25, at 6 p.m. in the Main Assembly Room of the City-County Building.
PARC members will present information on cases received by the Knoxville Police Department’s Internal Affairs Unit since Jan. 1, 2020, and a KPD officer will conduct an educational session. The agenda also includes committee business, speakers who have requested to address the committee, and an open forum, limited to three minutes per speaker.
Due to COVID-19 safeguards, room capacity will be limited to 50 people. All attendees should wear cloth masks in accordance to guidance from the Knox County Health Department.
Residents wishing to speak during the open forum should make their request no later than 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, by emailing the request to PARC Interim Executive Director Ola Blackmon-McBride at oblackmonmcbride@knoxvilletn.
Local television stations have been asked to make live video of the meeting available on their websites; additional details will be available closer to the event. After the event, video of the meeting will be available for on-demand viewing on Community Television of Knoxville’s website, CTVKnox.org.
PARC was established in 1998 to provide an independent review of police activity and make recommendations to the Chief of Police. It is the longest continuously running citizen-run police advisory board in Tennessee.
