Knox County’s Second Saturday Concert series wraps up its season in August with acoustic trio Freequency taking the stage at The Cove and Wild Blue Yonder playing tunes over at New Harvest Park. The live entertainment, which is free and open to the public, runs from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11, at each location.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets or lawn chairs. Please note: No alcohol is allowed.

“The 2018 summer series has been excellent so far and we expect it to continue for the final shows,” Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett said. “So come on out, have fun and listen to some great music!”

East Tennessee-based Wild Blue Yonder, which has two top-selling CDs, has performed its “Appalachian Americana” throughout the Southeast since 2001. The band features a healthy dose of mountain tunes and energetic grassy classics.

Freequency prides themselves on its three-part harmonies and variety of music, including original songs from their new debut CD “Angels Wading.” They also play some classic rock, as well as, country and bluegrass.

The Cove at Concord Park is located at 11808 Northshore Drive. The park features several other summertime amenities, including a beach, playground, sand volleyball court, walking trail and fishing areas. River Sports also rents canoes and kayaks at this location.

New Harvest Park is located at 4775 New Harvest Lane. The park features a number of amenities, including a pavilion, walking trail, playground and splash pad.

If any concert has to be canceled due to inclement weather, a notification will be posted to the Knox County Parks & Rec Facebook page and the park’s Twitter page
