The Second Saturday Concert Series continues this weekend at the Cove at Concord Park and Clayton Park.

The free concerts are held 6 to 8 p.m. July through September on the second Saturday of each month. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets, lawn chairs, and food. However, no alcohol is allowed.

The dates and bands left for summer 2023 are:

  • July 8: Rockinfellerz (Cove) and Paul Beasley Trio (Clayton Park)
  • August 12: Leftfoot Dave and the Magic Hats (Cove) and Pistol Creek Catch of the Day (Clayton Park)

Left Foot Dave and the Magic Hats combine a brand of blues and original material that spans seven decades from Chicago, the Muddy Ole Mississippi Delta, Texas and a bit of Cajun spice.

The band Rockinfellerz touts itself as a great “classic rock cover band from Knoxville” that loves “to have fun and work hard to make the music we play exceptional – rock on!”

The Cove, located at 11808 S. Northshore Drive, is the county’s most visited park. It features a number of summertime amenities, including a beach, playground, sand volleyball court, walking trail and fishing areas. River Sports also rents canoes and kayaks. Clayton Park, located at 7347 Norris Freeway, includes a pavilion, grills, walking trail and playground.

If any concert has to be canceled because of the weather, the county will post a notification to the Parks and Rec Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/knoxcountyparks/ and the Park’s Twitter page https://twitter.com/knoxcountyparks.
