Motorists traveling on I-40 East in Knox County should be aware of upcoming bridge repair activities that will have an effect on traffic.

Beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, December 3, one of the left turn lanes on the ramp from I-40 East to Exit 394 (Asheville Highway) will be closed. One lane will also be closed on Asheville Highway underneath the I-40 bridge. This traffic pattern will be in place until 6 a.m. on Monday, December 6.

This schedule is contingent on favorable weather conditions.  Motorists are advised to use extreme caution in this area as workers will be present.
