“I am always amazed at the stories of better health, better quality of life, and the deep friendships that are formed through this program,” said Christine Dewbre, executive director of the Tennessee Senior Olympics.

BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, presenting sponsor and a long-time backer of the Tennessee Senior Olympics, helped establish the games in 1981. After 39 years of support and counting, the organization remains dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of Tennesseans.

According to Todd Ray, senior vice president and general manager of senior products at BlueCross, the games offer valuable motivation for seniors and encourage an active lifestyle.

“As people age, it’s important for them to find active ways to support not only their physical health, but their emotional and social wellbeing,” said Ray. “Participating in the Senior Olympics offers a way to achieve all of these goals.”
