The Tennessee Artists Association will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, October 20, from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 6500 Northshore Dr., Knoxville.  This meeting is free and open to anyone interested in the arts in East Tennessee. Refreshments will be served.

The program will feature Aaron Lee Benson, Professor Emeritus of Fine Arts in Sculpture and former Chairman of the Art Department at Union University in Jackson, Tennessee.  At Union, Benson established and directed the university’s sculpture program and taught courses in sculpture, ceramics, and foundations. Benson and his wife, Elizabeth Jane Brown Benson, established Benson Sculpture more than 30 years ago, and the family studio continues to produce large-scale public sculpture works.  Benson’s work has been exhibited widely at numerous galleries, venues and institutions throughout the South and Northeast and in 27 states and four countries. His career has been marked by a sustained commitment to sculpture as both a public and personal art form, with an emphasis on large-scale work that engages architecture, landscape, community, and place.

Monthly programs of TAA include practical art demonstrations, discussions, and opportunities for individual artists to get involved in learning, community and shows.  More on the Tennessee Artists Association can be found on the web at https://tnartists.org, on Instagram at @tn_artists, and on Facebook at TNArtistsAssociation.
