The Maker City Summit: Make Today. Impact Tomorrow.

Preparations for the eighth The Maker City Summit are underway, and the dates are out! The Maker Exchange will again be abuzz with Knoxville’s most creative minds on September 8-10, 2023, and everyone is invited. With a history of creating an inspirational atmosphere with opportunities for networking and personal education, this event is designed to be entirely customizable to fit the needs of a new or seasoned creative entrepreneur.

Led by The Maker City Council co-chairs Jasmine Newton, Javon Renee Portraits, and Jonathan Clark, Carpetbag Theatre, the 2023 schedule is looking bold and inspiring.

Newton and Clark bring their own strengths to the lineup. As a photographer, Newton has a flare for the aesthetic and environmental impact of the Summit. She is focused on providing an area that fosters connection and growth. Her mantra is, ”Make your mark, make connections, and make an impact.”

Clark is a poet, writer, actor, and activist. He is motivational in the most approachable way. His goal is to ensure creatives are ready to take  next steps for success. “I want to ensure that everyone from established entrepreneurs and business owners to Maker-Curious individuals knows that there is something for you, and the opportunity to chase your passion and make your own way is here waiting for you to take full advantage, so that you, too, can impact your tomorrow.

The schedule through The Summit will include speakers, break-out sessions, interviews, and intentional networking opportunities. The lineup will be released next week!
