Tupelo Honey Cafe’s Executive Chef Brian Sonoskus will present healthful sweet potato
pancakes – both to learn and to sample – to Bluegrass Elementary School students on March 4
and March 6 in support of National School Breakfast Week, a weeklong celebration aimed at
increasing awareness of the School Breakfast Program among students and parents. Knox
County Schools’ Department of School Nutrition and Food Services assisted in planning the
presentations.
What: An interactive presentation about the nutrition in sweet potatoes for kindergarten and first
grade students. Chef Brian Sonoskus will present a lesson plan accompanied by a sweet potato
pancake snack with peach butter and syrup
