The McClung Museum of Natural History and Culture at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, will offer its first stroller tour of the new year on Monday, Jan. 13.
The 10-11 a.m. event will focus on textiles and fiber art from around the world.
Parents and caregivers with toddlers or babies are invited to meet in the museum’s lobby before taking a tour of the museum’s decorative arts gallery, “The Decorative Experience.”
The event is part of a monthly series of free stroller tours that allow parents and caregivers to interact with one another and museum staff without the worry of disrupting other visitors.
The program is free and open to the public, but reservations are necessary and are first come, first serve. Online registration is preferred and is available at http://mcclungmuseumstrollertour.eventbrite.com. Participants also may call the museum at 865-974-2144 to make a reservation.
Next month’s tour, on Feb. 24, will focus on the upcoming special exhibit “Glass of the Ancient Mediterranean.” Registration for stroller tours opens one month before the tour.
The McClung Museum is located at 1327 Circle Park Drive. It is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays. Admission is free.
