The University of Tennessee Medical Center is offering two different types of free screenings.
Free screenings for prostate cancer will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13 from 8-10 a.m. at UT Medical Center Cancer Institute, 1926 Alcoa Hwy, Building F, on the First Floor. Free parking is available in the C1 lot. Free prostate cancer screenings will also be held on Saturday, Aug. 20, 9-11 a.m. at St. Paul Baptist Church, 2342 Louise Ave.

Prostate cancer is the most common type of cancer in men. Recommended for the screening are men 50 years and older, or men aged 45 and older for African American men or any man with a family history of prostate cancer.
UTMC will conduct 3D mammograms on Saturday, Aug. 27, at Lennon-Seney United Methodist Church, 2084 Dandridge Ave. Insurance will be filed for those who have it; for those who do not, call to qualify for grant funding. To schedule an appointment, call 865-839-7416 or email lking@utmck.edu.
The criteria for mammogram screenings:
* Age 40+
* No current breast problems
* No personal history of breast cancer
* Must be able to climb stairs independently
* At least one year since your last mammogram
* Patients with implants will need two appointments times
