Karen Terry, owner and broker of New Door Realty LLC, has been opening new doors for families in South Knox, Blount, Sevier, Jefferson, and Loudon counties since opening this year.

Terry contributes her success to being “passion-driven.”

“I love what I do, doing something good for someone else,” Terry told The Focus. Her passion extends to her agents as well as her clients. “Since opening, I have learned about each of my agents differently than before, with a new set of eyes. They are part of this family, and I’m guiding them to be the best agent they can be. I can dedicate the time to them, if they are successful, then I will be too.”

Karen Terry grew up with property management and became a real estate agent in 2012. She specializes in military relocation and holds certifications as a listing specialist and has a Graduate Realtor® Institute (GRI) designation.  She has been able to apply her knowledge, background, and education into helping her clients. She has guided clients through VA loans, credit repair, and all other life changes such as divorce and short- or long-term relocations.

Terry explained how she navigates her clients through the stressors of each move. “Each family is different; each situation is different. I always have to have a plan ready, a plan for the lifestyle of each individual. You have to have your heart into it and stay focused and help them stay focused through the rough times of balancing emotions.

“I help them get through the process of buying and selling a home, making it less stressful, leading to a happier ending.”

What is the philosophy that makes New Door Realty different?

“It is your personality and how you work with your clients that separates you from other offices. It is not the selling or buying of a home, it is the relationship before and after,” Terry said. “I go by faith. God will tell me what I need to do. If you do not try, how will you know what you can do?”

Karen Terry’s goal for New Door Realty in its upcoming second year is to give back the entire year by expanding her group of agents and to “help one hundred families in the community to buy or sell their home.”
