Roseberry City is located just off Braun Road at the foot of Sharp’s Ridge in North Knoxville and is proud of its name and its history. In fact, Sharp’s Ridge was once called Roseberry Ridge for the number of rose bushes there

The Roseberry City Connection Community Organization has kicked off a rose-planting project for their area. The project has participants who have agreed to plant Red Double Knock Out Roses at committed homes.

The roses would commemorate the beautiful roses that once grew on the ridge. A distribution of the rose plants will take place on Saturday, March 6 in the parking lot of the First Baptist Roseberry City Church at 217 Hiawassee Avenue.

“The City of Knoxville has awarded the Roseberry City Connection Community Organization with a grant to cover the cost. Approximately five rose plants will be given to each resident in the Roseberry City area. This is an educational effort to emphasize the history of Roseberry City while also beautifying the community,” Jean Davis-James told The Focus.
