Knox County and Knoxville-Knox County Planning are hosting a series of virtual public meetings over the next few months for the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO), the third and final phase of Advance Knox. These meetings will provide regular updates and ongoing opportunities to provide feedback.
The first Zoom meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026, at noon and will focus on information related to the update of the County’s zoning regulations. Those interested should register in advance. Following the meeting, all materials will be shared online with the opportunity to provide feedback. If you cannot attend the meeting, a recording of the meeting will be posted on the website.
Attendees requiring special accommodations for the meeting should call the Mayor’s office at (865) 215-2005 to coordinate.
Advance Knox is the process to update Knox County’s plans and codes related to land use and transportation. A Unified Development Ordinance organizes all regulations in one document. These include zoning codes, street standards, subdivision regulations, stormwater regulations, and building and fire codes.
