I can see Tennessee Athletic Director Danny White giving Kim Caldwell another year simply because he doesn’t want to admit that he was wrong in hiring her in the first place.
And all that is going to do is throw the Lady Vols farther back in line.
I still can’t believe UT hired someone that had coached on the Division 2 level for all but one season. No offense to Glenville State, but I had never heard of that school.
Caldwell’s unusual offensive system is not working and her post-game behavior has been embarrassing. You know, the fly-by handshake at Ole Miss. That was very unsportsmanlike and reflects on the entire university.
Kim should have learned more from Rick Barnes.
I heard Saturday morning that four UT players have now gone into the women’s portal.
Can you blame them?
If I had White’s position, there is a former Lady Vol I would at least contact to see if she had any interest in returning to Tennessee and that’s Kara Lawson. She has excelled everywhere she’s been since graduating at UT.
Who wouldn’t be interested in Kara, who is now the head coach at Duke and also the head coach of the U.S. women’s national team.
After her college days, Lawson played for years in the WNBA before becoming an expert analyst for ESPN basketball broadcasts.
I would rank Kara right up there with Dawn Staley when it comes to women’s basketball.
Sorry Kim, you’re way down on my list.
