ROCKY TOP, TN — The Coal Creek Miners Museum is inviting everyone in the community to come together for a special Coal Miners Reunion on October 10, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the Coal Creek Masonic Lodge, 103 Pearl Street, Rocky Top, TN 37769.
This event is a celebration of the area’s coal mining heritage and, most importantly, the people and community that continue to keep that history alive. Everybody is welcome! You do not have to be a coal miner or have a mining background to attend.
A special part of the evening will be honoring individuals who represent the dedication and hard work of the area’s mining community: the Oldest Miner and the Longest-Working Miner. Their contributions and years of service will be recognized as part of the evening’s celebration.
Guests will also enjoy a traditional miner meal featuring soup/beans, cornbread, and dessert, with tea, coffee, and water available.
The evening will include door prizes and a community auction featuring a variety of donated items, including coal mining items, baked goods, gift baskets, gift certificates, and more. The auction will provide an opportunity for attendees to take home something special while supporting the work of the Coal Creek Miners Museum.
More than just a reunion, the event is an opportunity for neighbors, families, former miners, descendants, local residents, and visitors to gather together, share memories, enjoy a meal, and celebrate the history that helped shape Rocky Top and the surrounding community.
