11/16/25 TRAFFIC ALERT: KNOX COUNTY
KNOXVILLE – Motorists traveling on Alcoa Highway (US 129/State Route 115) and John Sevier Highway (State Route 168) in Knox County should be aware of upcoming road construction activities that will have an impact on traffic.
Beginning at 8 p.m. on Sunday, November 16, the exit ramp from Alcoa Highway northbound to John Sevier Highway will be shifted to its permanent alignment. This new exit will begin immediately after motorists cross the bridge over the Little River. This shift will allow the contractor to complete construction of the median barrier wall in this area.
This schedule is contingent on favorable weather conditions. Motorists in this area should use extreme caution as workers will be present, and access from northbound Alcoa Highway to John Sevier Highway will be altered.
As always, drivers are reminded to use all motorist information tools wisely and “Know Before You Go!” by checking travel conditions before leaving for your destination. Drivers should never tweet, text, or talk on a cell phone while behind the wheel.
