50th Celebration at 11:30 am
Rothchild Conference Center (8807 Kingston Pike)
Now in its 41st year, Aging: A Family Affair will once again provide valuable information and resources on topics related to aging that are helpful to older adults, their families, caregivers, and professionals.
This day-long event includes a series of informative workshops as well as a Resource Expo, with more than 80 vendors on hand to talk about their programs and services for older adults. The University of Tennessee Medical Center will conduct free Health Screenings throughout the day. Door prizes will be distributed at the end of the event.
At 11:30 am, we will celebrate the CAC Office on Aging’s 50th Anniversary with special invited guests, including Federal, State, and Local legislators. This is an opportunity for our media partners to join us!
This year’s Peggy Wirtz Keynote Address will feature a panel discussion with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) from The University of Tennessee Medical Center. APPs are highly trained healthcare professionals who, while not physicians, can perform many of the same clinical duties and collaborate closely with doctors to deliver comprehensive care.
The discussion, titled “Little Every Day Changes”, will shed light on the role of APPs, the advantages of seeing them for care, and practical steps we can all begin taking now to support healthy aging. With expertise across a wide range of specialties, the APPs on the panel will offer well-rounded, holistic insights to help us thrive as we age.
Workshop topics include:
The Nuts & Bolts of Estate Planning with Glen Kyle, Franklin & Kyle Elder Law
Aging Well Together (Relationships & Friendships) with Dr. Amy Rauer, The University of Tennessee
Brain Health with Dr. Margaret Swanberg, The University of Tennessee Medical Center
