Bike Walk Knoxville October 21 Walk with Elected Officials
Bike Walk Knoxville, a local nonprofit organization working to make the Knoxville region a better place to bike and walk for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds, is thrilled to announce an upcoming Walk with Elected Officials on Tuesday, October 21 at 6:00 p.m. The tour will begin at the John T. O’Connor Senior Center (611 Winona St, Knoxville, TN 37917), and the walk will be about a mile.
Bike Walk Knoxville’s tours with elected officials are a great opportunity to learn about how funding and policy impact infrastructure for biking and walking in our community, as well as to engage with constituents on the important issue of making our streets safe for all people. The tour will highlight walkability for community members and neighborhood residents with an emphasis on Vision Zero efforts in the area. We encourage participants to wear proper shoes and bring a water bottle!
The event will be followed by a Pint Night fundraiser at Last Days of Autumn Brewing (808 E Magnolia Ave, Knoxville, TN 37917), with $1 per pint sold supporting Bike Walk Knoxville and the work we do to make our community a better place to bike and walk. We are so thankful for their generosity, and encourage folks to join us for drinks and conversation after the walk!
