The City of Knoxville’s 10th annual Business Breakfast

When: 7:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2018

Where: Civic Coliseum, 500 Howard Baker Jr. Ave.

Who: City department directors, Purchasing Department staff, and hundreds of local business owners and managers

This free meet-and-greet breakfast gathering aims to help business leaders and managers – particularly, owners of small, locally-owned businesses – better understand and compete in bidding for contracts with the City of Knoxville.

“The City every year awards contracts for goods and services that total more than $50 million,” said Boyce Evans, the City’s Purchasing Director. “We want to do everything we can to help local businesses successfully bid for these contracts, because that fuels and grows our local economy.

“At the June 13 Business Breakfast, we can help local businesses strategize and improve their bidding. It’s definitely an advantage to be familiar with the contract specifics, and it’s also beneficial for multiple small companies to collaborate and offer stronger collective bids, with each partner focusing on what it does best.”

Representatives from City departments will present information about specific projects, the anticipated date the work will be going out for bid, and bidder qualifications.

Register online at www.knoxvilletn.gov/businessbreakfast. Free parking will be available in Parking Garage C on Historic Preservation Drive (one block south of Howard Baker Jr. Avenue, across from Hotel Knoxville, formerly the Marriott).
