Concord United Methodist Church presents its annual Christmas Cantata on Sunday, December 8 at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary. In coordination with the joyful season, this year’s musical is Joseph M. Martin’s Appalachian Winter.

Some 40 members of the Concord Chancel Choir and friends combine their vocal efforts with a full orchestra and piano, conducted by Rev. Mike Stallings, Pastor of Music and Arts at Concord UMC. Instrumentalists come from the local area, the University of  Tennessee Music Department, and members of the church, accompanied by pianist Betsy Segraves. Senior Minister Larry Trotter will accompany the vocals with guitar. Featured soloists include choir members Katie Bland, Laurie Booker and Concord’s Associate Director of Music Haley Retterer. The musical includes classic Christmas carols, but also pairs some familiar texts with traditional Appalachian tunes. The concert concludes with the exciting “Go Tell It on the Mountain.” You will truly be invigorated with the spirit of Christmas by this wonderful music!

Concord United Methodist Church is located at 11020 Roane Drive in Farragut. The public is invited to bring family and friends to enjoy this inspiring worship experience. Nursery care will be available for the 5 p.m. performance.
