Dogwood Arts is proud to present Resonance, a solo exhibition by Knoxville-based muralist Curtis Glover, on display March 6th through April 17th in the Dogwood Gallery in Downtown Knoxville. An Opening Reception will take place on First Friday, March 6, from 5–8PM at 123 W. Jackson Avenue. The event is free and open to the public.

Marking a major milestone in Glover’s career, Resonance is his first-ever solo interior gallery exhibition. Known for his large-scale murals that tower across buildings throughout Knoxville and beyond, Glover now invites audiences to experience his work from a new vantage point — two feet away on a gallery wall rather than seven stories high.

The exhibition features new work completed over the past year, alongside revisited projects and personal artifacts from his mural practice, including paint-covered clothing and materials that have become part of his artistic identity. Working primarily in acrylics and spray paint, Glover builds layered compositions that explore themes of nature, youthfulness, humanity, and civic pride.

Painting professionally since 2016, Glover made the leap to a full-time artistic practice after working in various roles within the arts industry. Over the past decade, he has built a career creating murals throughout Tennessee, Florida, Costa Rica, and Canada, while maintaining a strong foundation in Knoxville.

His public art has become an integral part of Knoxville’s visual landscape, with murals located at Jerry’s Artarama, Radius Rooftop Lounge, Boyd’s Jig & Reel, flanking both sides of Central Street as you enter the Old City, Pond Gap Elementary, Green Magnet Academy, Harper Auto Square, the Townsend Visitors Center, and the large-scale asphalt tank near South Banks Apartments in South Knoxville, among many others. He also contributed murals to the statewide “Everywhere You Look, UT” campaign, bringing murals to 70 counties across the state.

Glover has long collaborated with Dogwood Arts on numerous projects, including a mural in Strong Alley, live painting during Rhythm N’ Blooms Music Festival, participation in Art Slam and Chalk Walk, a custom-painted guitar for the Epiphone Guitar Fundraiser, murals at Maker Exchange, and most recently, a large-scale mural at KnoxWalls at Emory Place.

Resonance offers an intimate look at an artist whose work has helped shape the region’s contemporary mural movement — highlighting both his evolution and the layered process behind his large-scale creations.

The exhibition is also on display during regular gallery hours: Monday through Friday, 10AM–5PM.
