Saturday, March 19

1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. EDT

Chuck Swan State Forest and Wildlife Management Area

3500 Main Forest Rd.

This free demonstration will help outdoor enthusiasts with the winter identification of trees commonly found on their property. The Tennessee Department of Agriculture’s Division of Forestry will go over the basics of tree identification and how to key out what species of tree you are seeing. This can help landowners make sound decisions about management of their forestland based on what trees are present.

The site will be at the Division of Forestry’s new Chuck Swan Work Center just 25 miles north of Knoxville and within walking distance of a state forest fire tower. Directional event signs will be posted to aid in finding the demonstration location. Limit of 30 people. RSVP required. Foresters will contact you if this event is rescheduled due to weather. Be prepared to walk a short distance from the parking area along a wooded road.
