On Sunday, August 5, 2018, six churches in the Gibbs community will come together and host prayer walks at Corryton Elementary, Gibbs Elementary, Gibbs Middle, and Gibbs High schools.
The idea of the walk started with the principal at Gibbs Middle School, Cindy White, asking Clear Springs Baptist senior pastor, Rev. Justin Pratt, to host a prayer walk at the new middle school with the church family at Clear Springs. Once word spread in the community, different schools called requesting the same at their school. Next, the churches became involved.
Rev. Justin Pratt said, “The 2018 Prayer Walk is not a Clear Springs thing, it’s a Gibbs thing. Our desire is for people all over our community to come together and pray for our schools, staff and faculty, and our children.”
The event is sponsored by Bethel Baptist, Clear Springs Baptist, Corryton Church, Graveston Baptist, Fairview Baptist, and New Beginnings Baptist. The schedule is as follows:
- 2:00 p.m. Corryton Elementary (Walk school hallways)
- 2:45 p.m. Gibbs Elementary (Meet at flag pole)
- 3:15 p.m. Gibbs Middle (Walk school hallways)
- 4:00 p.m. Gibbs High (Meet under breezeway)
