Students at Green Magnet Math and Science Academy will hold a special “Book Signing” on Friday, March 22 at 1 p.m. in the school’s library. First graders have worked as part of Arts 360 to publish a set of four books. Each student has a page in the book that they wrote and illustrated for their class.

At the event, students will introduce, read and sign their books. A complete set of their books will be dedicated to the school’s library. Parents and a representative from East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, who donated art supplies for the project, have also been invited.

Arts 360 is a whole-school instructional model that makes arts-based and arts integrated learning a focal point of the curriculum. Arts360° is based on the innovative Artist to Artist model pioneered by the Perpich Center for Arts Education, the North Dakota Council on the Arts, and the Minnesota State Arts Board. It includes year-round professional development for classroom teachers, arts specialists, and teaching artists.
