Open to professional and informal educators alike, GrowTeachKnox is dedicated to engaging students with the outdoors. GrowTeachKnox is set for Saturday, Septebmer 14th, 2019 at the Knoxville Botanical Garden and Arboretum from 8:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Local environmental, gardening, and education professionals will provide hands-on learning for educators to better integrate lessons in the classroom with nature. With topics from linking standards to the outdoors to adapting outdoor learning to the special needs of students, educators will leave the day with the confidence to take their students outside, allowing students to more tangibly connect what they are learning to what they see in the wider world.

In addition to breakout sessions, attendees will also hear and learn from the Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont and will have the opportunity to network with other environmental and education professionals.
GrowTeachKnox is a collaboration between: CAC Beardsley Community Farm, Knox County Health Department, Knoxville Botanical Garden and Arboretum, the UT Grow Lab, HVES Learning Garden, Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont, Great Schools Partnership, and UT Recycling.
