On the eve of the inauguration, the Library’s monthly online trivia game tests knowledge of our presidents. Thomas Anderson of Knox County Public Library will host the event with expert commentary by Dr. William Hardy. Know it Knox will feature presidential trivia, including a mixture of general facts about and local/regional ties to the nation’s highest political office. The game begins at 7:00 pm on January 19. Registration is required at www.knoxlib.org/trivia.

In-depth knowledge of the subject is not necessary—experts and novices alike can either play for points or log on as a spectator. The top points earner will win a prize.

Meet the hosts

Thomas Anderson works for Knox County Public Library’s IT Department. On trivia night, you can rely on him for his knowledge of science fiction, ancient mythology, and folk songs about coal miners on strike.

Dr. William Hardy is a University of Tennessee graduate and teaches history classes at Lincoln Memorial University and Chattanooga State. His interests are 19th century American political and constitutional history, as well as Knoxville/East Tennessee history. Currently, his research interests include Knoxville’s Million Dollar Fire of 1897 and Knoxville’s earliest baseball clubs.
