The Night For Life is an informative event, opening the conversation surrounding abortion and the overturning of Roe v. Wade, and encouraging reflection and response. It will be led by the Knox County Association of Baptists in partnership with the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board (TBMB), the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention (ERLC), Hope Resource Center, Choices Resource Center, Christ Covenant PCA, and First Baptist Church of Powell.

“With the recent Supreme Court decision, the Church has an opportunity to respond to this issue with the love and grace of Jesus Christ,” observed Phil Young, Director of Missions at Knox County Association of Baptists. “It is important that we do so in an informed manner, with compassionate hearts, and in a spirit of humility.”

The Night For Life will feature an informational portion, broken down into three sessions led by key leaders within the event partner organizations, as well as a panel discussion, providing the opportunity for attendees to ask questions. The first session will be led by Elizabeth Graham,

Vice President of Operations and Life Initiatives for the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, focusing on the topic of “Roe v. Wade and The Dobbs Decision.” Executive Director of Hope Resource Center Andrew Wood will head up the following session, highlighting “Misconceptions Surrounding Abortion.” The final of the three informative sessions will feature Seth Hammond, Senior Pastor of Christ Covenant PCA, with “A pastoral Response to this Cultural Moment.” Graham, Wood, and Hammond will also be part of the panel discussion, along with Sarah Fern, Executive Director of Choices Resource Center, and Young, who will serve as moderator. Perry Garrett, Senior Pastor of host church First Baptist Powell, remarked, “We are eager to host this culturally-relevant conversation with grace and truth in order to further empower Christians to be salt and light.”
