Knoxville May 4, 2022 — Program participants, staff, partnering agencies and friends and family will gather at Holston River Park at 4pm for a Milestone Celebration!

Recovery Court of Knox County hosts the quarterly festivities to celebrate the participants’ achievements or “milestones”, including but not limited to graduations, clean time and drug-free births. Party events include refreshments, games, and fellowship. Program graduates will share speeches and testimony of their accomplishments during their time in Recovery Court. Presiding over the event will be the Honorable Judge Charles Cerny.

“Milestones are a great time to share with our family, friends and community the amazing recovery journeys our participants have been on”, says Gloria Smith, Knox Recovery Court Case Manager.

All participants’ triumphs will be met with cheering and great applause! Good times and camaraderie are to be had for everyone joining in on the fun.

The Recovery Court and Veterans Treatment courts are special courts given the responsibility to handle cases involving substance-abusing offenders through comprehensive supervision, drug testing and treatment services. In addition, the Knox Recovery Court ensures consistency in judicial decision-making and enhances the coordination of agencies and resources. The Knox Recovery Court provides one of the most viable options for addressing the substance-abusing offender today.
