Knoxville Area Urban League to host Free Community Health Fair

The Knoxville Area Urban League (KAUL) will host its second annual Free Community Health Fair in partnership with the University of Tennessee Medical Center on Saturday, Nov. 11, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at 1514 E. 5th Ave. Appointments for adults and children without an established medical provider are available by calling 865-305-4970 or emailing Twright@utmck.edu.

Dr. Rocio Huet, Dr. Emmanuel Isang and other UT Medical Center providers and pharmacists will be onsite offering stroke prevention education, CPR training, medication guidance, heart health information, COPD lung and blood pressure screenings, carotid ultrasounds and visceral fat measurements. Mammograms are available by appointment; call 865-305-9753 to book.

UT Medical Center’s human resources staff also will be promoting job opportunities at the event for interested applicants to learn more.

Services at the event are free. If additional care is needed, providers will help patients schedule office visits. The fair is part of the Knoxville Area Urban League’s commitment to empowering communities and changing lives through Education, Entrepreneurship, Health, Housing, Jobs and Justice programming.
