Michael K. Shaffer is a Civil War Historian, author, lecturer ,newspaper columnist, tour guide and this month’s guest speaker at the Knoxville Civil War Roundtable. Shaffer is also the former  president  of the Cobb County Roundtable  and currently serves on board of the River Line Historic Area and a consultant to the Friends of Camp McDonald. Michael holds BA and MA degrees in Military History: Civil War Studies.

Come join us as Michael takes us back to the story of General Shoup’s six mile line, the River Line, and the action that followed on the Chattahoochee.The lecture will begin  at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 9, at Bearden Banquet Hall, 5806 Kingston Pike.
