After a successful season last year, the Knoxville Force women’s team looks to defend its Southeastern Conference championship title beginning tonight.
The team opens its 2016 season with an away game against conference rival Memphis Lobos on Friday, May 27. The match kicks off at 7 p.m. Central time. Memphis is 1-0 after their win against the FC Nashville Wolves, and the Knoxville Force seek to hand the Lobos their first conference loss.
The women open their home season on Friday, June 3, at Sansom Sports Complex against the Gulf Coast Texans.
The Knoxville Force men are resting up this week since their game against Chattanooga FC, originally scheduled for May 31, was moved to July 5.
The break is well deserved after the men bounced back from a 2-4 loss in their season opener against the New Orleans Jesters by defeating the Birmingham Hammers 3-1. The men play next on June 4 at home against Nashville FC.
