The Knoxville Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association announces ‘Paint the Ice Purple’, a 2-night/2 game special event with the Knoxville Ice Bears hockey team! For two nights over Thanksgiving weekend, November 25th and 26th, the Knoxville Civic Coliseum will host a benefit fundraiser Knoxville Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
Game attendees will be able to purchase a special ticket package that allows donors to paint one of 50 squares on the ice purple with a message to honor someone in their lives affected by Alzheimer’s or other dementia following the November 25th game. The 50 sponsored purple-painted squares will be showcased on the ice for the Ice Bears game on November 26th as well.
“The Ice Bears are excited to be partnering with the Alzheimer’s Association for the ‘Paint the Ice Purple’ event to raise awareness and support for Alzheimer’s research,” said Ice Bears Director of Hockey Development and Game Operations Taylor Stefishen. “Alzheimer’s has personally impacted 5 family members of mine including my mother, so this cause hits close to home. Because of the impact that this disease has on those suffering from it and their families, it is imperative that people continue to fight it through raising awareness and funds. Our ‘Paint the Ice Purple’ package includes a ticket for both games November 25/26, $100 donation to the Alzheimer’s Association, and a unique opportunity to paint the ice with your personal message of support and love for someone affected by this disease.”
The Knoxville Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association asks Ice Bears fans to wear purple for both event nights to show their support and raise awareness.
