LWVKKC hosting candidate forums
To better prepare voters for the primary election on Aug. 26, the League of Women Voters of Knoxville and Knox County is hosting candidate forums for Knoxville City Council candidates in July.
The following forums have been scheduled, and all candidates have been invited.
- Tuesday, July 22, 6:30–8 p.m., Knoxville City Council Districts 2 & 3
Knoxville Public Works Service Center, 3131 Morris Avenue, Knoxville, Tennessee, 37909
- Thursday, July 24, 6:30–8 p.m., Knoxville City Council District 4 James Episcopal Church of Knoxville, 1101 North Broadway Street, Knoxville, Tennessee, 37917
Early voting begins Wednesday, Aug. 6. Voters may visit vote411.org to find additional information about the candidates. LWVKKC sincerely appreciates those candidates who have completed their questionnaires on Vote 411 and urges all candidates to complete the questionnaires to inform voters of their perspectives on current issues.
The following organizations are partnering with LWVKKC to provide these forums for the public: Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Alpha Mu Lambda Chapter, American Muslim Advisory Council, East Tennessee Society of Professional Journalists, Knoxville Area Urban League, Knoxville Branch of the NAACP, and the Voter Turnout Coalition.
LWVKKC is also supporting a forum on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, for Knoxville City Council Candidates in District 1 hosted by the South Knoxville Neighborhood & Business Coalition. Additional partners for that event include the South Knoxville Alliance and the Old Sevier Merchants Association. The forum will be held at South High Senior Living, 835 Tipton Ave, Knoxville, Tennessee, 37920.
